Meet Jasmine and Ben

Jasmine and Ben in Humboldt park with their 3 border collies

Jasmine and Ben have spent their careers around animals. They’ve lived in Chicago for 14 years and built a home in Humboldt Park that holds three border collies, a flock of hens, a French Angora rabbit, and one grumpy cat who tolerates the rest of them.

Jasmine Haldane

Dog Trainer

Jasmine has worked with animals for decades. She started in a pet store, handling customer service and serving as the store’s nutrition expert, before moving into training. She was the Training Director at Call of the Wild School for Dogs, and has over 14 years of experience with the Third Way approach developed by Chris Bach, which builds on positive reinforcement and clear communication between dog and handler.

She competes in Rally-Obedience at the national level and has guided multiple dogs to Rally-O titles as a handler. She also teaches group classes through the year and competes in sheep herding across the Midwest with her border collies.

Outside of training, Jasmine volunteers with Come Bye Border Collie Rescue, Chicago Canine Therapy Corps, and the Wisconsin Working Stock Dog Association.

Ben Hussey

Operations

Ben has spent years in customer service and consulting, with a background in software engineering. He’s built and customized service systems for Fortune 500 companies, and was Director of Customer Service Engineering at Chewy, where he spent seven years leading the technology behind supporting pet owners.

He handles the operations side of Two Hearts: scheduling, communication, and everything that happens around a session. Outside of work he volunteers in Chicago and spends as much time outdoors with the dogs as the weather allows.
